Embassy of Afghanistan in New Delhi observed the Martyrs’ Week today.
September 9 th is commemorated as a national holiday to honour the martyrdom of those who lost their lives during the years of imposed war in Afghanistan.
The Afghan Embassy in New Delhi held Khatm-e Quran (recitation of Quran) to pay homage to those who were martyred in fighting wars against the country’s enemies and those who fell victim.
The event was attended by all Afghan Diplomats in New Delhi, the mission’s local staff, and a group of Qaaris (Quran Reciters).
Khatm-e Quran took place before the noon and was followed by a prayer.
H.E. Shaida Mohammad Abdali in a brief remark on the occasion thanked Qari Jabaar and his team for participating in Khatme Quran and prayed for peace and prosperity.
