Describing China and Afghanistan as two friendly neighbors, Ambassador Luo Zhaohui said that the two countries relations trace back to old days.  Speaking on China’s involvement in post-Taliban era, Chinese envoy noted that his country sees its economic and security interest in a stable and prosperous Afghanistan and therefore, its involvement has aimed at supporting efforts towards achieving stability in Afghanistan. He underscored Chinese assistance to Afghanistan in the form of training young Afghan diplomats and medical doctors as well as helping out Afghanistan in agriculture sector.

Laying stress on security as a shared concern, Chinese Ambassador said that his country stands ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in bringing peace.

Ambassador Abdali described China as “always friendly neighbor of Afghanistan” and appreciated China’s assistance to Afghanistan. He welcomed the rising role of China and India in Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of joining hands by regional powers mainly China, India and Russia in dealing with common challenges of the region, adding that decades of hardship and war have persisted in Afghanistan because of the neglect to act collectively. Moreover, Ambassador Abdali expressed hope over the coming Moscow meeting as a collective regional mechanism, however, he stressed that such mechanism shouldn’t be used for individual country’s interest.
