The fifth cargo of the Indo-Afghanistan Air Corridor landed the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), New Delhi on 17th August, 2017.

After, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) and Kam Air Company, this flight was carried out by the Kam Air Company containing 93 tons of fresh fruits (watermelon, grapes, apricots and peaches).

As per the MoU, the traders are liable to pay 10 cents (USD) per kg for the goods to be exported in the Indian market and the remaining cost will be borne as an incentive by the government of Afghanistan to further promote Afghan exports to India and to get easy access to the Indian market.

The cargo will carry 100 tons of goods at the end of every week from Kabul to New Delhi and Kandahar to Amritsar.  It has been proposed to extend the air corridor services to other cities in Afghanistan and India in order to expand  the regional connectivity.
